Need favor ideas for a fall wedding? Look no further. Here is a list of nine favors that will have guests gushing at any reception.
This list is guaranteed to have guests asking the couple where they got their favors.
Mini Pumpkins and Gourds. Take a trip as a couple to the local pumpkin patch and gather mini pumpkins and gourds for decorations and favors (make sure you enjoy a cup of apple cider and a trip on the hay ride too). If you want to spruce up the pumpkins and gourds, tie a handwritten note around the top with ribbon.
DIY Cinnamon Stick Votives. Pick up clear votive candle holders and bags of cinnamon sticks. Get out the trusty glue gun and glue the cinnamon sticks all around the holder. Viola. A rustic candle holder with a spicy scent.
Pumpkin Shaped Sugar Cookies. Go to a local warehouse retail chain such as Sam’s Club or BJ’s and buy a couple buckets of sugar cookie dough. Find a cookie cutter in the shape of a pumpkin and get to work baking favors. For the reception, put the cookies on platters or bag them in clear baggies that can be purchased at a craft store and place them in a decorated basket. Homemade and yummy is a perfect combination for wedding favors.
Bottles of Maple Syrup. Live in an area known for maple syrup? Buy mini bottles of the syrup and wedding guests can enjoy the favor on lazy Sunday mornings with their pancakes.
Jams. Love to cook and shop locally? Hit the farmer’s market during the summer and get blackberries, strawberries, cherries, and blueberries to turn into jam. Place a handwritten label on the front to add to the charm. Making these favors well ahead of time can save the couples stress when approaching the wedding date.
Caramel Apples. Find a recipe on-line to make caramel apples for wedding guests. Decorate some with nuts, some with sprinkles, and some with pretzels. Don’t want to pay for a wedding cake? This could be a delicious substitute.
Fall Leaf Cookie Cutter. Don’t love to cook and don’t want to spend a lot of time on favors? This is the perfect alternative. Pick up fall shaped cookie cutters for less than a dollar. Print decorative paper that says, “Fall in Love,” frame it and sit it next to the favors.
Apple Butter. Make and can apple butter for each guest. Buy the jars at a dollar store and use a slow cooker for the process. It takes hours, but tastes delicious. The wedding guests would appreciate the diligence it took to complete the favors.
Bottled Hot Chocolate Mix. Buy hot chocolate mix at a grocery store and bottles from a craft or dollar store. Fill most of the bottle/jar with hot chocolate mix and fill the rest with mini marshmallows. Print off personalized labels that state “The Perfect Mix” and the date of the wedding to place on the front of the bottles/jars.
