UNEP set an initial goal of planting a billion trees, which has been surpassed, twice. The new goal for 2009 is to plant 7 billion trees by the end of the year. Through the Plant a Billion Trees the couple-to-be can purchase trees on behalf of their wedding guests to be planted in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil.
